A really interesting (and not as well-known as it should be) way to access your Starwood Preferred Guest account is through the SPG Promos Dashboard.
The dashboard has all of the functionality of the general SPG site along with some nifty extras such as:
A tracker that shows your progress toward the current promotions you’re registered for and annual and lifetime SPG Elite status
A list of some of the bigger SPG promotions
A world map with details on the regions, states, countries and Starwood brands you’ve stayed in since joining the SPG program
Here is a glimpse at where my travel with SPG has taken me:
200 Starpoints simply for opting-in to receive SPG emails
500 Starpoints for booking 1 stay through the SPG mobile app
500 Starpoints for referring a friend to SPG
10,000 Starpoint for completing 2 stays with 2 different Starwood brands
Bonus Starpoints may take up to two to four weeks to post after you’ve successfully completed the required action.
