Introduction Image for: MARRIOTT TARGETS & REWARDS ELITES

Not Sure if You’ll Stay Enough This Year to Maintain Gold or Platinum Elite Status?

Expiration Date – December 31, 2015

Even if you may not complete enough stays in 2015 to maintain Gold or Platinum Elite status, you may be one of the lucky members Marriott rewards with an easier path to Elite status.Frenchman's Reef Marriott

Marriott is inviting select members with Gold or Platinum Elite status to maintain their Elite status by completing a fewer number of qualifying nights with Marriott from October 1 through December 31, 2015.

If you’re one of the fortunate few, your total completed stays and your fourth quarter goal from Marriott will be well less than the normal number of nights required to achieve Gold (50 nights) or Platinum Status (75 nights).

From what we’ve heard and seen, it appears that Marriott is targeting current Marriott Rewards Gold members who have stayed at least 10 nights and Platinum members who have stayed at least 35 nights year-to-date.

While these offers are targeted and could differ by member, it seems these are the most common reduced-stay criteria:

  • 14 qualifying nights to maintain Gold status

  • 20 qualifying nights to maintain Platinum status

The Wrap-Up:

Even if you did not receive this fast-track-to-maintain-Elite invite from Marriott, but are currently Gold with over 10 nights or Platinum with over 35 nights so far this year, go ahead and call Marriott to request an invite. The worst they can do is say no.

And, even if you are unsuccessful at completing the challenge, don’t fret. Marriott is known to extend a continuation of Elite status to loyal Marriott Rewards members that are close to the normal Elite status requirements.

And, Marriott also typically extends an offer to buy-back your Marriott Rewards status at the beginning of the year.

If you are one of the lucky ones targeted for this fast-track challenge or were invited to join the challenge after a call to Marriott, please leave us a note with the details on Facebook and Twitter!
