HYATT DIAMOND CHALLENGE

Introduction Image for: HYATT DIAMOND CHALLENGE

If Invited Before May 31, 2015, You Will Enjoy Hyatt’s Highest Elite Level by Staying 12 Nights in 60 Days! Are You Up To It?

Expiration Date – May 31, 2015

Diamond elite status with Hyatt usually requires 25 eligible stays or 50 nights in a calendar year. With this challenge you can achieve Diamond status by completing 12 eligible nights in 60 days!

The current Diamond Challenge requires an invitation from a Hyatt hotel sales executive or manager and enrollment before May 31, 2015. You won’t receive Diamond benefits until you complete 12 eligible nights in 60 days, but you will be automatically rewarded with Platinum status once you are enrolled in the challenge.

If local hotel management is unaware of the challenge, firmly ask them to look into it. Calling Hyatt Gold Passport customer service won’t help because the request has to come from an upper-level hotel employee.

While you are not required to have elite status with another hotel chain to receive an invitation, it may help clear the path to acceptance into the challenge. If you currently hold Hilton HHonors Gold or Diamond, Marriott Rewards Gold or Platinum, Starwood Preferred Guest Platinum, or IHG Rewards Club Platinum Elite, we suggest you bring along a screenshot that shows your status level.

Here are the details of the 2015 Diamond Challenge:

  • Participants must be enrolled in the challenge by May 31, 2015

  • Once enrolled you will receive Gold Passport Platinum status for the 60 days of your challenge

  • If you stay at least 6 eligible nights but less than 12 during your challenge, you will maintain Gold Passport Platinum Status through February 29, 2016

  • You will receive 1,000 bonus points for each of the first 6 eligible nights you stay during your challenge

  • To count toward the required 12 nights you must to pay an eligible rate, which is a published rate including discounted rates such as AAA and corporate rates

  • Award nights paid entirely with points will NOT count, but Points + Cash nights are eligible

  • Nights booked through internet wholesaler sites (e.g. Expedia, Priceline, Hotels Tonight, etc.) will NOT count

  • Even though you can earn Hyatt points with Mlife hotels, these stays will NOT count as eligible for this challenge

If you successfully complete the challenge in 2015, you will be rewarded with Diamond status through February 29, 2016, which includes:

  • 4 suite upgrades each year

  • A 30% bonus on Gold Passport base points earned

  • An upgrade to the best room available upon arrival, excluding suites

  • Access to the Regency Club or Grand Club lounge, and in hotels without a club, enjoy daily complimentary breakfast for up to 4 registered guests per room

  • Complimentary premium Internet access where available

  • 4 p.m. check-out when available

  • Bonus points or a food and beverage amenity at check-in

  • 2 complimentary one-time-use United Club passes each year (NEW in 2015)

  • And for the rest of 2015, Diamond benefits can now be extended to your friends and family when you book them a room using your Gold Passport points with Hyatt’s Guest of Honor program

A web page advertising the Diamond Challenge doesn't exist because the invitations are intended to be a sales tool for local Hyatt hotel management. It’s really worth making an aggressive attempt to get recommended if you have a 60 day period when you can complete 12 eligible nights with Hyatt. I completed this challenge in 2014 and enjoy the Diamond status immensely! It’s a true Luxury for Loyalty experience!

Please note, you will not usually get a second chance in the near future to participate in this challenge, so if invited, we suggest you choose your 60 day trial period carefully. Best of luck!
