Just Tag Your Bag at Home Before October 20, 2015, and Earn 1,000 Bonus Miles!
Expiration Date – October 20, 2015
Save time at the airport and get rewarded! Alaska makes it easy to tag your bag at home and until October 20th you can earn 1,000 Mileage Plan bonus miles each of the first five times you elect this option!
The first thing we thought was, how the heck do we print a tag at home that will attach to our luggage? The tags at the airport are backed with adhesive so they can attach to themselves. How can we replicate that at home?
Apparently it is simple. Just check in online, use the Self-Tag Online option to print your luggage tags while checking in for your flight, attach it to your bag with a reusable bag tag holder (provided by Alaska by mail or at the airport), drop your bag(s) at the Self-Tag Express bag drop area in the ticketing area at the airport and earn 1,000 miles!
As we’ve pointed out in many of our Alaska Perks and Tips, we value Alaska Mileage Plan miles at 2 cents per mile. So 1,000 miles is equivalent to Alaska paying you $20 to print your tag at home. Seems like a good deal to us!
Most cities offer this service. Take a look to see if your city is on the list! The offer is valid on flights marketed by Alaska Airlines and operated by Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air, SkyWest or PenAir. If there are multiple people traveling on one reservation we suggest you check-in separately so each flyer earns the bonus miles.
After you save precious time at the airport with your first bag drop for 1,000 bonus miles, go ahead and thank us for the Tip with a nice note on Facebook and Twitter!
