Hyatt is Making Award Category Changes August 1, 2016. Book Now to Lock in Lower Rates!
Expiration Date – August 1, 2016
We greatly appreciate when you click on any of our links or ads and book directly on our partners’ websites where you’ll enjoy the best rates!
On August 1, 2016, 56 Hyatt hotels will move to a lower award category requiring less Gold Passport points and 50 hotels will move to a higher award category requiring more points.
Check out the list and if you plan to book an award stay in a hotel that will require more points, book it before August 1, 2016, to lock in the current lower rate. And don’t worry, existing reservations for stays after August 1, 2016, will receive a refund for the point difference if the hotel is one that will move to a lower category.
The Wrap-Up:
Whenever hotels adjust their award categories, it’s always good to do a bit of advanced planning to lock in lower rates at hotels moving to more expensive categories. And remember, almost all award stays have generous cancellation policies so it doesn’t hurt to attempt to lock in a lower rate even if your plans change and you need to cancel later.
