Hurricane Matthew has greatly affected communities in the US and other Atlantic nations, proving to be one of the most powerful tropical storms in years. Citizens, organizations and businesses alike are springing to action to help relief efforts and community preparation in every capacity. American Airlines is doing their part and is offering you a chance to do yours.
Now through October 31, 2016, if you make a donation to the American Red Cross through American Airlines Giving you can earn AAdvantage miles for your contribution!
Donations starting at $50 and up to $100 will earn you 250 AAdvantage miles. Donations of more than $100 will receive 500 AAdvantage miles.
At trvlvip we value AAdvantage miles at 2 cents a piece. So 250 and 500 AAdvantage miles are worth $5 and $10, respectively. We still haven’t locked down a definitive value for good karma points, but we are fairly certain they have a lofty value, and you will certainly receive a bundle for contributing to the cause!

You must be an AAdvantage member to participate, it’s free to sign up if you haven’t already. Expect to see the miles posted to your account about 21 days after your donation is received. And those miles do not count toward Elite-status qualification.
